I am still often asked "what is a blog?" or "what's the big deal about blogs?" Recently I came across a web site called CommonCraft who produce short videos explaining things in simple terms. They say "Our product is explanation. We use a simple format and real-world stories to make sense of complex ideas."
Anyone who communicates could learn from CommonCraft. Simple is good. Simple is powerful. Take a watch as they explain blogs...

Mark, this CommonCraft video is incredible. I've always know I would have to wet my feet on blogs and RSS, but I figured it would take and entire Saturday afternoon to understand it fully. CommonCraft walked me through them in just a few minutes.
Pure information- non-academic approach, no wasted breath on useless-extra information.

Go check out some of their other ones - they are all really good. What a concept - take some complicated and figure out to communicate it in a simple manner. Genius! That's effective communication.
